Hotel with an excellent location

The first thing to mention — the hotel photos on all platforms look much better than the actual condition.

The staff and the entire functioning system of the hotel reminded me a lot of Egyptian-style service. At check-in, I was first given a poor room — outdated and with a strong cigarette smell, and it didn’t match the voucher. Instead of an “ocean view,” I was staring at the wall of the neighboring building. When I went to change the room, I saw how tourists were being “offered” upgrades for $50. Luckily, I managed to change rooms without extra charges.

Important notes:

• Ask for upper floors — there’s a better chance of getting a sea view.

• Most standard rooms have no balconies.

• Most rooms with balconies come with a double bed.

• If you're a smoker, do not use this as an argument to get a balcony — the fine for smoking, even on a balcony, is around $200.

A $100 deposit is mandatory upon check-in. It is returned in dollars at check-out. The reception staff tried to return less than the full amount. As I was checking out at 5 am, they sent housekeeping to inspect the room. They tried to charge me $2 for the slippers I had worn for 10 days and took with me for the flight. I refused, so they continued searching for other things to charge me for — without success.

Another downside (besides the staff) is the elevators. There are only 3 elevators for 17 floors, and they are not always functioning properly. I stayed on the 15th floor and spent a lot of time waiting for the elevator. It stopped on nearly every floor to pick up other guests.

Breakfasts are very good and diverse — fruits, vegetables, omelets, soups like pho bo and gyoza, bao buns, etc.

Beach towels are provided by the hotel.

The beach is across a busy road. Sunbeds are free, but very limited — only 5 umbrellas, so 10 loungers total. However, the hotel is rarely chosen for beach holidays, so availability wasn’t an issue. Plus, there's a paid area nearby with loungers for about $4 each.

The hotel’s main advantage is its location. It’s about 500 meters from the “Lotus” — considered the center of Nha Trang. Right next to the hotel, you’ll find two shopping malls, a huge supermarket, tons of cafes/restaurants, massage salons, and more.

For the price, I’m satisfied with the hotel, but travelers should be warned about the downsides in advance.
