Julia, good afternoon! I’m back from Tunisia, everything went well. The MARHABA CLUB 4* hotel in Sousse is very decent: a large beautiful territory, private sandy beach with sunbeds, umbrellas, bar, and restroom. Water was 28°C, no jellyfish. The restaurant was excellent. Bed linen and towels were changed often (though at home we don’t replace them every day!). Upon check-in, the air conditioner didn’t work, but it was fixed the next morning — although it ran very loudly, like a tractor. Still, after all our adventures, that was a minor issue. I took one excursion with Join Up — to the capital Tunis and Carthage. It was fine, but it happened to be the only day when it was 39°C, I thought I would melt. Opposite there was the Le Monaco hotel, music played every night until 3 a.m., and people screamed as if they were being cut and stitched back together. But once the balcony door was closed, nothing was heard (except the air conditioner). Friends asked me to bring them spicy “harissa” sauce, so I ran around looking for it with my tongue out, since there weren’t any shops or markets nearby, but I did find it. At first I even thought about scooping some harissa from our restaurant, but I didn’t have a jar 😅. Overall, I liked it. Thanks for the trip, I’ll stay in touch!
