Hampton by Hilton Warsaw City Centre — great location, but with a few surprises

Already on the way to Warsaw, I decided to book a hotel in the city center through UNIT. One of the main criteria was parking availability and the option to comfortably stay as a family of three (2+1). After reading a colleague’s review on UNIT, who gave it a “10,” I thought — let’s go for it! Despite the price of €300 for two nights with breakfast, I booked Hampton by Hilton Warsaw City Centre.

Thirty minutes later, we arrived — and that’s when the surprises began. Parking in central Warsaw is almost impossible. The hotel’s parking system is actually a car elevator to the underground level, and honestly, not every car will fit. We went inside — the reception is on the second floor, which is a bit strange when you’re arriving with luggage and a child.

Check-in was fast, and the staff were friendly.

I asked at reception:
— How do I access the parking?
The answer:
— Unfortunately, your car won’t fit in the lift.
When I asked, “So what do I do?”, the receptionist didn’t hesitate and said:
“You can leave it on the street — parking in Warsaw is free from Friday evening until Monday.”

I thanked her — that really helped. But finding a spot was still quite a quest.

The hotel itself looks modern, clean, and well-maintained. The room was compact but comfortable, with a cozy bed, fresh linens, and decent soundproofing. For a short stay in Warsaw, it’s more than fine.

Breakfasts were standard for a 3★ Hilton, but honestly, the food wasn’t tasty. Everything was fresh but lacked soul — eggs, sausages, bread rolls, some fruit and veggies. After the first morning, I preferred the idea of grabbing breakfast in a café. Forget about the “amazing waffles” mentioned in the previous review — none in sight.

The hotel has a few technical inconveniences:
To use the elevator, you must tap your room key — without it, it won’t move. It’s slightly annoying when your hands are full.
There’s no mini-fridge in the room — not even a small one. To chill some water, I had to go down to the ZABKA store conveniently located in the same building, where I ran into several other hotel guests doing the same thing.
The bathroom door closes very tightly and makes a loud “thud” — definitely not ideal at night.

Overall, it’s a convenient hotel in a great location but with small drawbacks you wouldn’t expect at this price point.

Pros: location, cleanliness, comfortable bed, friendly staff, nice view from upper floors.
Cons: tasteless breakfast, inconvenient car elevator parking, no fridge, loud bathroom door, key card required for elevator.

Conclusion: If you need a place to stay right in the heart of Warsaw, Hampton by Hilton will do the job — just be ready for parking challenges and an uninspiring breakfast.
