A hotel with “maze-like” corridors

A hotel that’s popular with group tours. It’s made up of several buildings added over time — and getting from reception to your room with a suitcase can feel like you need a compass or an escort!

Classic Alpine vibe. There’s a spa with a pool and saunas (extra charge). One odd detail: there are no lockers in the changing rooms, so you carry your belongings around in a little bag.

There’s a restaurant, with BB, HB or RO options. Breakfast on its own costs €15 per person, and dinner is €35. Guests didn’t complain about the food.

There’s a lobby area where you can have tea or coffee.

There are lifts, but the buildings aren’t connected by them. To reach upper floors you use separate lifts, and during group check-in/check-out you can end up waiting ages — and if you give up, you’ll be hauling suitcases up lots of stairs and along long corridors. Very inconvenient.

Rooms: there are several categories depending on the building. We stayed in apartments with a kitchenette — everything you need was there (a small pot, a frying pan). A kettle is available with a €10 deposit (for a 30-person group they provided only two kettles).

Rooms are a bit dated, but everything worked, and it was warm — we even opened the balcony door in sub-zero temperatures.

Internet worked fine.

There’s a ski room where you can leave your gear overnight, but it’s located in the car park, so you can’t really dry your boots there.

Ski rental is nearby (in the neighbouring BIVIO Alpen Resort).

IMPORTANT: a cash deposit is required for almost everything: room key €10, ski room key €10, room deposit €50 per person, final cleaning €100 per room. After check-out, the key and room deposits are refunded.

The hotel is next to the TEOLA lift in the Mottolino ski area, at the final stop of the free ski buses (yellow and red lines).

It’s ideal if your plan is simply to ski, without moving around the resort too much.

Getting to the centre takes 15-30 minutes (different circular routes across the resort). It’s not convenient if you want to go out in the evenings: the last bus is around 7:30 pm, and after that it’s taxi only. So it’s not the best choice for party-goers.

Ski schools are mostly in the village centre as well, so if that matters to you, think carefully before booking how you’ll get there. I personally found it very inconvenient — I wouldn’t book it for myself again.

The crowd is mostly Polish and Czech guests, with some Italians; we also saw a few cars with Ukrainian plates.

Overall, it’s a hotel you can confidently recommend to different types of travellers.
