A luxurious beachfront stay in La Pineda — perfect for discerning travellers

Gran Palace Experience & Spa 5* in La Pineda is genuinely a hotel for discerning travellers looking for a large, green property with plenty of entertainment options.

It’s located on the second line, about 100 metres from the beach.

From the moment you step into the lobby, you can feel the luxury — it truly lives up to its 5-star rating. The lobby is spacious with high ceilings, crystal chandeliers and even a grand piano.

From the outside, the hotel resembles a Greek Acropolis, with a fountain at the entrance.

I really liked the grounds: they’re truly large — similar to Turkish resorts, which is rare for Spain. Everything is well maintained, very green, with floral arrangements throughout and decorative stone pathways. As you exit the lobby, you walk into a stunning palm-lined avenue with lounge seating and tables — a lovely spot for a coffee. There’s also a fountain on the grounds.

There are two pool areas:

1. an adults’ pool with a slide + a children’s pool; and, to the side, another children’s pool with a slide.

2. about 50 metres further on, a second area with a pool + jacuzzi and a stage.

There’s also a snack bar for All Inclusive guests (I have a video).

Meal plans: all options are available. With HB, drinks are included; with FB, drinks are included at breakfast only. All Inclusive is available.

Facilities include a tennis court and a basketball court.

There’s a good children’s playground, a trampoline, and a kids’ club right next to it.

There’s a gym.

I liked the spa centre — it’s free of charge. It’s large and warm inside, with a big heated indoor pool, a sauna, and private treatment rooms.

Beach towels are provided free of charge, with no deposit. A beach umbrella and sunbed cost around €7–8.

Rooms are modern and spacious.
All rooms include bathrobes and slippers. The safe is free. The minibar is free. There’s a kettle with a tea/coffee set. An iron and ironing board are also provided free of charge, with no deposit.

There’s a Suite category — a large suite with a jacuzzi for a romantic stay (maximum 3 adults).

There’s also a Duplex for up to 6 people (two-storey layout).

Check-in from 15:00, check-out by 11:00.
Late check-out costs €60 until 16:00.

Parking is available at €20 per day.
Pets are not allowed.
