Hotel Gran Vista Plava Laguna is an excellent budget hotel

This is a 3-star hotel — no more, no less. So you shouldn’t expect wow-level service or any “extra” perks (even for an additional fee).
It’s located 60 km from Pula Airport and 4 km from Poreč.

The hotel is older, but well maintained and clean. There are lots of flowers and trees, and the grounds are very tiered/cascading.
If you have mobility issues, joint problems, or you’re travelling with a child in a pushchair — this hotel is NOT suitable.
There are a lot of steps.

There is only one lift, and it does NOT serve all floors and rooms — so be prepared for plenty of walking up and down 🙂

Board basis is HB+ (Half Board Plus). The food is tasty, varied, and fresh. Of course, you won’t get smoked salmon for breakfast — it’s a 3-star hotel — but having 2-3 fish options at dinner is absolutely realistic.
A big advantage is that drinks at dinner are included (including beer and wine 🍷).
There are also snacks from 12:00 to 14:00 — a sandwich + a small cake. Simple, but it genuinely helps until dinner.

Rooms are compact and old-style in layout, but clean and perfectly functional.
I have a video of the Suite: a two-room unit with a living area (sofa bed), a bedroom, and a balcony.
The bathroom is very small, and the shower cubicle is tight.

There is no fridge, safe, or kettle in the rooms (you can rent them at reception for an extra charge).

The beach is almost first line, but to get there you need to take the stairs for about 100 m — going down is easy, coming back up is a bit of a workout 😁
The beach is municipal: slabs + large pebbles. You can enter the sea via steps or from the shore, and there’s enough space for everyone.

Nearby you’ll find shops, restaurants, a promenade, and even a nightclub.
There’s a shuttle to Poreč several times a day.

For children: a kids’ pool and a mini club.

Conclusion: I’d recommend this hotel for couples, travellers aged 35-60, and families with children (from 3 years old).
