We’re trying out one of the city’s most modern hotels — Courtyard by Marriott Chisinau

Friends, today we’re in Chişinău — and we’re testing one of the city’s most modern hotels: Courtyard by Marriott Chisinau.

It’s an international brand, so expectations are high. And honestly, I was genuinely curious whether it meets Marriott standards here in Moldova. The location is very convenient — close to the centre, with shops, restaurants and transport nearby. It looks modern and stylish, without being flashy — but it still feels “classy”.

This hotel is clearly aimed at business travellers. There are several conference rooms that can easily be reconfigured for different formats — from small meetings to large events.

The hotel has bright spaces, panoramic windows, modern equipment, good sound, and fast Wi-Fi. If you’re planning a forum, training session or corporate event, it’s a very solid option.

The lobby sets the tone straight away: spacious, full of light, stylish soft sofas, and modern design with warm textures. It’s not just a place to wait for check-in — it’s a place where you actually want to sit with a coffee or hold a meeting. Check-in is quick, and the staff are smiling and professional. The first impression is very positive.

Now to the most interesting part: the room feels modern and well thought-out. A large, comfortable bed with Marriott’s signature mattress — it really is easy to sleep here. There’s a proper work area with good lighting, which matters on a business trip. The bathroom is spacious and spotless, with good toiletries and excellent water pressure. And importantly, the soundproofing is great. The room stays quiet even when the hotel is busy.

Next to reception there’s a small 24/7 market. Snacks, drinks, coffee, and travel essentials — very handy if you arrive late or simply don’t feel like going out.

The bar has its own atmosphere: stylish, intimate, with soft lighting. You can order classic cocktails or try Moldovan wines. And there’s a very interesting detail: on the walls you’ll see signed shirts from famous European football clubs and national teams. This isn’t shop-bought décor — it’s a reminder that professional teams have stayed in this very hotel during matches in Chişinău. And honestly, having a glass of wine in a place where football stars stayed adds a bit of charm.

Breakfast is something I always test particularly carefully. It’s a classic buffet: hot dishes, omelettes, sausages, fresh pastries, fruit, yoghurt, and cheese and cold cuts. There are also some local Moldovan items, which is a nice touch. The coffee is good, the space is large, and even at peak times everything runs smoothly. Breakfast is definitely a strong point here.

The gym is compact but well equipped: cardio machines, dumbbells, and basic strength equipment — more than enough to stay in shape while travelling. Clean and tidy.

There’s underground parking — a big plus if you’re travelling by car. It’s convenient and secure, and the lift takes you straight up to the rooms.

In the evening the hotel is beautifully lit — it looks very modern and stylish.

To sum up: Courtyard by Marriott Chisinau offers a consistent international level of service, comfortable rooms, a strong breakfast, and a pleasant atmosphere with its own story.
