Is Avid Hotel Brooklyn Dyker Heights worth the money?

We stayed at Avid Hotel Brooklyn Dyker Heights during the FIFA World Cup 2026. Due to high demand, the price was almost $300 per night and, to be honest, for this type of hotel, that felt overpriced.

At the same time, the hotel itself is new, clean and well maintained. There are supermarkets, cafés and restaurants nearby, and 86 St subway station is only a 3–5 minute walk away, so getting to Manhattan is quite easy.

We stayed on one of the upper floors, and the view of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge was a nice bonus. The room was compact, but it had everything we needed, and the beds were genuinely comfortable — which was very welcome after long walks around New York.

For a one- or two-night stay, the hotel is perfectly suitable. Breakfast is included in the rate, but personally, I was not impressed. If you want a good breakfast, it is better to spend that time visiting one of the local cafés nearby.

A nice bonus is the free and stable Wi-Fi, which is already standard for IHG hotels. It worked without interruptions, and the speed was sufficient both for work and video calls.
