For most people, Egypt means pyramids, desert, and turquoise water. But if you’re in Sharm El Sheikh, there’s a chance you’ll witness another wonder — dolphins in the open sea.

Is it easy to see them?
Honestly — not really. Not that often.

Dolphins in the Red Sea aren’t a “daily show”; they’re more like a lovely surprise from nature. They live in the wild, move freely along the coastline, and aren’t tied to one specific spot.

But! During a boat trip or a dive, it’s absolutely possible to spot them — especially if you get lucky with the route and the weather.

Where are your chances highest?
Dolphins are most commonly seen:
— near Tiran Island;
— around Ras Mohammed National Park;
— on yacht trips heading out into open water.

The water is deeper there, it’s quieter, and there’s more space for marine life.

What are they like?
In the Red Sea, you may encounter:
— spinner dolphins (the ones that love jumping and spinning in the air);
— bottlenose dolphins (the classic “smiling” dolphins).

And when they do appear, it’s always an emotional moment. The boat slows down, everyone goes silent — and suddenly you see silver backs cutting through the water.

Why is it so special?
Because it’s not a dolphinarium, and it’s not a guaranteed excursion. It’s wild nature — and that’s exactly what makes it so valuable.

In Sharm, dolphins aren’t an everyday attraction, but a rare bonus for patient, attentive travellers. And maybe you’ll be the lucky one to see them out in the open sea 🐬💙
