Friends, congratulations! Sasha, who currently lives in Ireland, is in touch with you again. Recently, I talked about a route around Dublin , and today I will talk about interesting locations in Ireland that are worth visiting.

🛂 Visa

Now, Ukrainian citizens do not need a visa, which makes this country even more accessible.

✈️There are 5 international airports in Ireland: Dublin, Cork, Knock, Shannon, Kerry. And depending on what you want to visit, you can book tickets. I remind you that Ryanair is an Irish low-cost carrier and it flies from Europe to all these airports.

🚌There is public transport in the country: trains, buses, but they do not reach all interesting locations and the bus schedule is 1-2 times a day, so it is better to take a ready-made excursion or rent a car.

🚗 Advice for drivers

If you plan to rent a car, remember that in Ireland traffic is on the left and the steering wheel is on the right.

📆 Time of year

The best time to visit is from April to October, when it is warm and there is less rain, although it does rain a lot. The nature is striking with its greenery, and the cities welcome many tourists.

Locations:

🏰   Ashford Castle 5*
The castle with a centuries-old history is the most luxurious and expensive hotel in Ireland. It is located in County Mayo and attracts tourists from all over the world, it is booked for weddings and festive events, the territory is closed to visitors, but you can book afternoon tea or dinner to visit the hotel without booking a room. The cost of rooms starts from 600 euros / night.

⛰️ Cliffs of Moher

The cliffs are 214 m high with panoramic, breathtaking views of the ocean, this is where one of the episodes of "Harry Potter" was filmed. It is better to go in good weather to enjoy the views and take a boat ride and look at the cliffs from the water.

🏝️ Doolin and the Aran Islands

Doolin is a charming fishing village, from here you can take a ferry to the Aran Islands - with cool locations, beautiful beaches and a famous natural pool where Red Bull held a cliff diving competition.

🏠 Galway

A city with a beautiful waterfront and narrow streets with local shops, with colorful houses that resemble postcards. Here you can find both shopping and relaxation at the sea, and tourist locations: creative shops, pubs with live music, attractions.

🏰 Cork City

The southernmost airport and the second largest city in Ireland after Dublin. It is very popular with Americans and Canadians who come here for vacation. Authentic English Market , many shopping centers, monuments and cathedrals.

The city of Cove, by the way, is the last port that the Titanic liner called at on April 11, 1912, before setting off across the ocean. There is a Titanic Experience museum here , which tells the story of the construction and voyage of the famous liner.

Nearby is the Wild Park Zoo, which is popular with tourists with children. And if you feel like an adventure, head to Blarney Castle, with its famous Stone of Eloquence.

🏝️The best beaches

Ireland is not a beach country at all, or rather, there are a lot of beaches here, but the times when you can relax on them with good weather are very few. Of course, it is best to visit in the summer in sunny weather, but locals can relax here in any weather, regardless of the wind and rain.

🏝️ Enniscrone - there is always wind here, so there are many surfers here.

🏝️ Dog's bay - similar to the Maldives with white sand and a gentle sunset.

🏝️ Keem Beach - located on Achill Island, one of the most amazing beaches.

If you like this format, then next time I will tell you about many cool locations in Northern Ireland, this territory belongs to Great Britain, but has no borders and you can easily get there by bus, train or car. There is definitely something to see here: the epic landscapes of "Game of Thrones", the Giant's Causeway, the city of Belfast, where the Titanic liner was built and a museum in its honor.
